Advice/Telling a friend
Hey.
I have struggled with s-h for about seven years, and have it generally under control.
However...
I have become friends with a girl a bit older than me (I'm 22 and she is 29.) I have discovered she s-h, but I don't know if I should tell her I do/used to. I know her fairly well, and I think that I would want her to tell me if it was the other way round. Just don't know how (and whether i should) tell her.
Any advice?
Jen

it might be good for you to support each other... we tend to isolate ourselves and feel alone so sharing with her could be really positive...
but i guess you have to be ok with the idea she might need support and you both could find things triggery, but i think if you have a comfortable situation where you can both relax having a real life person to confide in could be so so good...
i think it would be good... hearing words from someone else can mean alot...
good luck... please do let us know what you decide...

i think it depends on her and on you
if you are up to talking about it and if you are comfortable with the idea of sharing this with her right now, then go ahead if you think it is something that she would also be comfortable talking about it and knowing about it
for the most part it's always good to share with your friends
hope you guys are both okay

Let her know you haven't done it for a while and that you are open to talking about it when she wants to.

My husband is my best friend.
In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Cool thanks.
I am happy to share stuff with other people, mainly when I know things are okay with me. I know she doesnt know many people as she is new to the area and that, so I want to be a really good friend to her, but also be able to support her.
Thanks, Jen

I think listening to someone is more than hearing words. You're reading her body language and can approach her, then if she doesn't want to talk about it, you'll honor it.
