Trigger warnings and thread titles all read

I was thinking and was wondering how many other members find it 'hard' for lack of a better word to see what the thread titles are as in your eyes are drawn to the left of the screen and you see the bold black text but dont really notice the thread title so much and i know that i would find it personally easier to see the thread title first followed by the black bold trigger warning.

i was thinking and wondering what people thought about possibly changing the way around the trigger warning and thread titles are arranged for example:

From

*Graphic / Triggering* anyoldthread123

To

anyoldthread123 *Graphic / Triggering*

because when you are looking at a forum full of them it feels like your lost or swamped with lots of trigger warnings and no thread titles.

I think that most people are ok with the layout and its just me that finds it alittle difficult at times to see whats staring me in the face as it were i know that the idea is to draw your immediate attention to the trigger warning/s.

Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular, even though the herd may go.

pathetic

Interesting question - it might be worth starting a poll on this?

I completely agree with you, Aaron.

Also, that would help me because I'm not really loving the fact that, at a glance, it's impossible to tell the difference between the "Sticky" and "Trigger" things.

i dont like the auto labels at all.
well.
tbh.
i hardly make threads that need trigger warnings.
but they're just a bit of an eyesore.
i liked how it was on recover. where ppl can put in their own trigger warnings. well, i guess they can still do that here, shrug.
but all in all, i dont mind either way.

take what you love
burn it down.

I suggest that u keep it at the left cuz we read from left to right , Right ? and so we first see the label and so if we are in a mood that makes it hard to read triggering threads then we won't read it
But if it was at the end of the title then we are done reading the thread and really involved to see what is really like ,
May be we need additional labels?

^^^ Exactly. Please leave them as they are as we read left to right, and the trigger label is the most important part of the thread title, so I think it's important to leave first.

Swap them over, definately.

hmmm....definately sounds like opinion is divided over this one!

Standard labels are a very good thing since they allow Harley, Mods and myself to search specifically for threads matching those criteria - non-standard user defined labels are far too 'wolly'.

I don't know if there is one or not, but if swapping them is possible to do, then perhaps a poll in General would be a good idea, to get a larger percentage of RYL voting...?

I think you should swap them around because it's really difficult to read the titles.

There's still an issue with the labels though - They can't be seen on the main forum page. I KEEP clicking into threads that have warnings that can't be seen on the main page. I'm ok with triggers, but if people aren't...

Yeah, the labels should definitely be shown on the main forum page, that way you'll know before you get into a sub-forum whether a particular thread could trigger or not. I voted to swap them, because it made sense to me. You don't look at the age rating before the title of the film, do you? (I know it's not exactly the same thing, but still, that was only a metaphor!) Also, for those having trouble reading/noticing them, is it at all possible to change the colour of the font, maybe to red or green or something?

I just looked in there and (as seems usual) almost everything says *Triggering*. Why not just assume most things in Serious are probably triggering and just put in what form (SI, SA, ED etc.). It looks silly and messy seeing everything marked triggering in big bold letters. Its not like people go in there thinking its F&D.

Mostly the site looks great and its very impressive technically and layout wise. Source code says vbulletin a lot but it hardly looks like anything I seen before and I belong to lots of vboards. Nice job.
