General Medical Question - Non Urgent - Sinuses acting weird...

I woke up this morning with a sore throat, stuffy nose, the usual symptoms of a typical cold. I know it's just got to run it's course, but I took some cold meds to make it through the day. It feels like my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat now rather than out my nose, which has never happened before with or without these meds. Any idea what in the world is going on up there and what I can do about it, if anything?

Ear nose and throat are connected.

Sinuses are icky. I've had sinus/catarrh problems all my life. I can commisserate.

Not very medical advice, I'm afraid, though.

My sinuses drain back into my throat all the time. Keep drinking lots of fluid so it doesn't make your throat feel worse.

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

It's normal. You have 4 different sinus cavities and depending on which ones are stuffed up the drainage goes different places. It's normal for your sinuses to drain either out your nose and down the back of your throat.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

Thanks for clearing that up, just wanted to make sure I shouldn't be worried. :)
