SI Question - Infected I think *POS TRIGGER*

Sorry it's first time I've wrote on here so I appologise now if I put anything wrong.
I SI on wed while I was out so what I used wasn't clean and sterilized, the cut is infected and weeping alot. My friend keeps dressing it for me and putting antiseptic cream on, but it seems to be getting more painful. Should I be doing anything else and how many times a day should I change dressing at the moment it's getting done once a day? Thanx.

Ideally for an infected cut the dressing should be changed twice a day, being cleaned and more anti-septic cream added each time. If it's getting worse it really should be seen by a doctor as it is a sign that the anti-septic isn't tackling the infection and it needs anti-biotics. It is better doing this sooner rather than later as infections are easier to control when they aren't too bad.

You need to go to the doctors straight away if it shows any sign of the infection spreading into your bloodstream as this can be really dangerous. Signs of this are dizzyness/fatigue/headache/nausea and red lines spreading from the wound towards the direction of your heart- known as Tracking. These need o get treated by a doctor as they need anti-biotics pretty quickly to stop further damage.

They can tell you not to us anti-septics as they slow down the rate of healing but if a cut is mildly infected it is better than not using them as they can help.
