dont deserve to be a member *SI trig maybe*
last night, i had a friend who knows about my self harm and does it herself, tell me i was doing it for attention and that, cz i dont have really bad scars on my arms, (mine are the top of my leg), and i do it to see the blood, not the deepness, that im a fake, and that my self harm wasnt as good as hers and she was better than me cz she did it deeper and had more scars etc.
it just made me feel so ****, and that i dont deserve to be a member on her.
just wanting some support etc.

Don't listen to her, dismiss it, she sounds full of crap - acting 'competitive' like that and putting you down is plain wrong of her. It's ridiculous to say things like that! Have you spoken to her about how what she said made you feel? You deserve to be treated a lot better by your friend, in my opinion x

This is totally stupid. You're a fake becuase she has more scars?!
She's obviously very immature, and has very little understanding of self injury. What did she plan to gain from that statement? Did she want you to increase the severity of your injuries, to make you a 'better' self harmer? I'm guessing all she wanted is a reaction, perhaps shes the one who is wanting attention? (im not saying that wanting attention is a bad thing; its a problem in itself and each person has a reason for how they feel).
I understand what you meant when you say she said about your self harm not being as good, but self harm is never good. Self harm is about the emotions behind it, not the severity of the injury. There are no 'good ' or 'bad' self harmers, there are only people in pain looking for a way to cope. I expect ignorance from those who are not familiar with self injury, but from those who do it? I mean wtf.
As for her saying you dont deserve to be a member here, why the hell not?! You have every much right as each one of us here! This is our community, we strive to be understanding and empathic; two qualities this friend of yours seems to lack.
To be honest she sounds like a **** friend. you get major huggage from me right now, as it sounds lieka terrible thing to have to deal with.
Just remember you deserve to be here! You have every right to be. I just hope the person your refering to is not a part of this community, as it would sadden me to think we have members with such ignorant views.
Your welcome to pm me anytime.

Your friend is a ****ing fool. The severity of your cuts/scars has no indication of how you feel inside which is what SI is really about in first place.
If anybody said that to me i would bloody slap them, it's insulting.

That disgusts me so bad ! Is she boasting that her scars are deeper than yours? I can't get it why the hell would anyone would boast with that ? does she think that the one who has deep scars is a hero in suffering from pain?
I better shut up before i start cursing
*hugs 2 u*
Don't listen to her crap !

I hope you realise how much your 'friend' is contradicting herself!
She's saying you are attention seeking, yet she's saying her scars are bigger and better?
Something wrong with that statement in my opinion.
As the others have said - severity of scars are no indication of how bad the problem is, and no friend should ever compete with another friend over this sort of thing, it's just irresponsible and nasty.
I think you know she's not right, from your post. Try and keep strong and don't let other peoples uneducated opinions affect you too much. x

Whatever the reason for doing it.. Self harm isn't something a person would do if there wasn't something seriously wrong somewhere. People are ignorant a lot of the time.. becuase nobody can get inside and feel how you feel..
Anyway You deserve to be here...
Much Love ..x

Just be kind.
