Triggering (Substance Abuse) - Solvents

this is kinda weird -
but I like the smell of some solvents like butane or plastic etc....
and at first i sniffed them because I liked the smell
but now everytime i'm in contact with a lighter - i smell the butane.

now i don't know how hard or how long you have to inhale for solvents to actually work...

but i can't POSSIBLY be addicted to it right?

As a little kid you believed in fairytales,
that fantasy of what your life would be: white dress; prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill.
You closed your eyes and had complete and utter faith.
Eventually you grow up. One day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears.
But the thing is, it's hard to let go of that fairytale entirely because almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith,
that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.

no your not addicted,
I'm not going to tell you about "what and how"
but its a disgusting habit you have, I'm sorry to tell you how it is...
but it is one thing you should stay away from, i don't really see any harm, personally, in you liking the smell of the gas from a lighter, i suppose its just like when anyone has a marker pen, its always one of those "smells" as to say.
but please please please don't turn it into a habit, I'm pretty sure your much better than that
x

If you smell the butane every time you're in contact with a lighter, then you may very well be addicted. It is possible to get addicted to a lot of things.

I'm not an expert but i am in recovery for alcoholism. I'm addicted to chocolate ice cream!

Please stay away from the butane and other solvents. Besides being addicting they can do major damage to your body and even kill you.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Smelling solvents is doing you harm. Why don't you look it up online? You might look up solvent abuse and then look up butane to see what the warnings are.

There are foods that have a strong smell. Vinegar, mustard, cut up chili pepper, onion. Why don't you see if you might substitute one of those?
