I have it done but agree about it being passe.
Actually the only reason I had it done was I was banned from cutting
Make of that what you will
I also have normal and cartilage ears
Hurt the most but it was not that bad. But the method is different and less quick so that makes it hurt a bit more.

I had mine done last year (it's closed up now =[) and it didn't really hurt that much that I can remember.
Probably a bit more than my ear cartilage coz I didn't even flinch with that.

As for it being a "sheep" thing, if I'm honest I know a lot lot less people in my year at school who have their belly done than their nose.

the piercing in the top of my belly button was far less painful than my scaffold or my nose. I've had four in the bottom of my belly button and they were worse and they all grew out within two months.

Yeah, it's not so bad as far as pain goes. Just make sure to keep it clean, because they get infected really easily.

no. but it might depend on the piercer. if your too thin then there might not be enough skin for it to go through correctly. Too large and it might reject fast (mine has migrated because I gained a ton of weight

hmm.
I have 7 in each ear,
(2 at the top, 5 at the bottom)
and my nose done.
I used to have my belly button done,
and when I did it, it didn't really hurt.
But for one, I didn't have it professionally done,
so I dunno what that's like,
two, everyone's different as far as pain levels,
and three, every piercer has a different method of piercing.

it does depend on the person doing the piercing.
i agree that for some of them it doesnt hurt that much, but when i got mine done, last year, it killed like hell. it was slow and painful. but as already mentioned, its done differently at different places. wish you all the best, and yes, do keep it clean so it doesnt get infected!

By piercings on the bottom you mean like that? http://hubpages.com/u/94745_f248.jpg
Coz that's where mine is and I didn't have a problem with it (apart from after taking it out for a day).
Who pierced them if you don't mind me asking?

I have to say mine did hurt, but it was only for about 3 seconds while it went through... then it was fine.

Just be careful after, make sure you clean it and wear low slung trousers so you don't catch it.
