Hey, for the past 6 months I've been really reluctant to go out. I mean I go out to go to school and stuff but I don't like going out to meet up with friends...I have to force myself out sometimes and I often make excuses and stuff...how can I stop this? I want to go out without dreading it and forcing myself out, it's too hard...

do you have someone like a counselor or someone you can talk to?maybe you are depressed?

I do, I spoke to my cognitive therapist ages ago about it and it didnt really help...

can you go to another therapist?or a doctor that can diagnose you, in order to get meds, if you need?

My parents wont let me go on meds...

They just gave me therapy which didn't work... I don't really know what to do at the moment, I've been taking vitamin b6 to calm my mood swings, and its worked but I still feel low. I cant be depressed though 'cause I'm happy most of the time at school...

I mean, I dont get extreme highs and lows anymore...just not as extreme lows...but im still happy most times...

you mean you are happy at school because you don't wanna look sad??because even when im sad, i don't want to make other people sad too because of me.if you have depression then maybe therapy alone can't work.i mean only talking can help much, in my opinion.i have been in therapy for 4 months and it didn't help me and when i told my therapist that i was suicidal, she referred me to a psychiatrist.can you tell your parents that you think that you may be depressed?

Hm maybe you're just not much of a fan of going out, I know I ain't, for example, doesn't mean I'm depressed or anything.

I used to like going out though...and I want to be able to go out without dreading it and stuff...and I don't know, I kinda get distracted so then I'm happy...but when I'm no longer distracted...I go back down...

I do that too.When im around people, i don't think about all the things that going on, so im not feeling very bad, but when im alone, i go back down.hun, you should really get help.do you have suicidal thoughts?

I hate going out, and before I went into hospital I was spending my summers inside for weeks on end, not leaving the house at all and during the other times of the year just going to school and that was it. I've been described by one of my old psychiatrists as having agoraphobic tendancies. I dont know if this helps but I just wanted you to know you're not alone :)
