tooth ache!!!
Hi guys,
I have extreeeeeeme tooth ache. I can't see the dentist for a few days until I go home (the dentist at my uni is private and thus expensive)
Aside from gorging on painkillers can anyone advise me on some ways of limiting the pain?!? I couldnt sleep for most of last night it was soo sore.
Thanks

I tell you what I found helped when my wisdom teeth were growing, whisky.
Put it on a tissue and bite on it, or swirl it round your mouth, as alcohol is an antiseptic and also an anastetic it should help until you manage to go to the dentists.
but being as your taking painkillers, don't swallow it.

Could you call up your dentist at home and see if they can advise you on what to do?
hope it gets better soon :)

Yeah go to a chemist and ask over the counter - in conjunction with the painkillers you need something to apply to the actual tooth. Oil of cloves to meant to be good for toothache (and might be a little more socially acceptable than whisky breath 24-7...!)

Saying that though I rang up NHSDirect once as I was in such agony from toothache, the nurse told me to drink brandy as I had no painkillers in the house!

dunno if you have a co-op chemist locally. I notice that they do temporary filling kits. they are about £7 i think and ive never used them but im guessing they come with instructions. Maybe worth a try
