but, I have a problem

its really really dark brown to begin with, and then a large part of it might be covered with black dye. and its super long

and I want a new hair colour -/

so, can I dye over my hair or is there a way to lighten it? it looks horrid as it is and im bored of it -/

if its dark then bleaching it would be they way to go, if you want a lighter colour, or just use something like dark purple, if you want it dark.

but it might be wise getting it done proffesionly, there is alot that can go wrong

Well. then you'll def. want to bleach your hair since your hair is dark to begin with, or the lighter red or pink won't take.
Try manic panic dye and bleach, their stuff is normally pretty good.

I tried the swartzkopt(sp?) live colour radiance red and it went patchy -/ it was horrid

thanks, i think I will need to get it done properly.

Paul and I put blonde on it to lighten it and I went ginger -/
went an awesome red on top though! but then I had to start looking for a weekend job so it went black -(

i have dark hair and to get my bright pink i beach it with swarzkof or however you spell it that has the blonde booster and then i use special effects atomic pink for the colour.

the only issue with the colour is that it does fade. kirsty in the compliments pic thread there is a photo of me recently and that is my hair 3 months after it has been dyed and is still a bright pink so its one of those colours you have to love straight away as it is difficult to get rid off and dye over.

hope what i said helped a little

Jane x

The smart one is brill, its better than the one you tried. Ive used it for years, and it always works and turns my hair bright red. Its great to use if you dont want to bleach your hair then try and put a colour on it (because it didnt work with me).

(also to not my hair has been black and dark colours when ive used it)

Mari, superdrug you said? (just been reading this thread)

I think my flatmate (the smelly one) used some from there, and it looked horrid (but then, he never washes so that might be why -/ )

but I'll try the hair dresser and if i have to will take in my own colour for the final colour or jsut get them to lighten it nad then colour over myself like, the next day *nods*
