I don't know what to do. My best friend wants to lose weight and does everything. She told me she doesn't want an ED, just to lose weight and to be obvious to herself and other people.
She goes to my nutritionist and she is on diet, but she thinks she can't lose weight. The nutritionist told her she has bulimia because there are times that she binges, but now she has started purging as well.
I have told her everything i know about EDs. I have told her that it will ruin her life and that she will never be happy with her weight. She had told me that she wants to look skinny, but for herself and not for anyone else, and when i told her that with an ED she will never be pleased, she said to leave her alone. I have tried everything.
I asked her what i can do to her so that she won't purge again and she told me 'if you stop SIing, i will consider stopping.' i feel like its my fault now.
She refuges to get help.She hasn't even told her psychologist she wants to kill herself. She told me not to tell anyone. I can't betray her, by telling my nutritionist or her family.please help.

i really don't have much advice other than you've done a really good job as being her friend. keep reminding her how awful it is. and huni its not your fault. and you can't believe that.

Could you maybe tell your nutritionist some of your concerns for your friend without mentioning the suicide thing? There is a difference between betraying her and expressing your concerns - sometimes telling someone else can be the only way to help someone, whether they like it or not. If she's seeing the same nutritionist, you could maybe try and make your nutritionist aware that you're worried but tell him/her not to let your friend find out hat you talked to them kind of thing. Sorry if that doesn't make sense =\ I'm a little tipsy xxx
its my fault, because i feel like she purges to hurt herself like me.and because she has promised her mom she won't SI, she does something else.i told her that she will only lose weight with a healthy diet and she won't gain it back.
she told me not to tell anyone about her purging.especially my nutritionist.i don't know what to do.i have tried everything.she doesn't listen to me.she never does.

If she has told the nutritionist and her mum then she has taken the first step to get help. The hardest thing with an ED is believing and admitting you have a problem.
