I am currently:
Triggering (SI) - Murmurs to a fragile mind (poem)

I wrote this about four years ago for a poetry class I was attending. I thought I would share it, but it might be triggering (which is why I put the warning).

Murmurs to a fragile mind

Of these reminders of days long past gone
flowers faded beyond recognition.
Summer haze in years forgotten today
when seasons shift, colors become muted.
Silently she dances to songs in her mind
whispers carried by wind to her alone.
Aloof, standing apart from spectators
a fresh slash on wrists to symbolize change,
droplets of blood crimson fall to the floor
suicidal tendencies are her game.
Will she be written about in the books
or will she be forgotten yet again
to dance amongst ferns surrounding the graves?
Sigh deeply child, for your time has come now
to lay down your sick and weary head.
We, your silent visitors, have arrived
and crown you our queen of a forgotten race.
Swab your wounds, press dry lips to your pale brow
and carry you to the place long loved
where the light in your eyes still shines brightly
and where all is forgiven and forgotten...
amongst the relics of days long past gone.

I'm so sick and tired of the taste of tears the sting of pain the smell of fear the sounds of crying
-Voltaire "Feathery Wings"
