Bits and bobs

I'm just gonna be spouting wandom stuff I feel like typing (I write what I feel XD) Hope you guys enjoy it ^^ Any comments welcome, even harsh/cruel ones (but preferably nice ones ^^; )!

Story #1

I flipped the drab pages of a picture book. The colour, the smiles, they hurt my eyes. I hated such things, so unreal.
I was bored. Waiting wasn't a game to me, it was pointless, inefficient. I wanted to leave this room, go outside and then back to my home. No, I HAD to stay. They MADE me come here and they would let me leave. Damn them.
I twitched a little, my fingers drumming the arm of the chair. My eyes moved quickly over the people and over the pictures and the contents of the room.
I wanted out, NOW! I was just about to run for the door when she walked out and turned to me. That smile struck her lips and she asked me to follow her. She didn't ask really, it was a hidden demand, disguised by the politeness she held a high regard for.
"Sit down." She told me; I did so.
"How have you been?" I shrugged, fingers tapping the arm of the chair to a nonexistent beat.
"How has your father been?" The tapping stopped, the beat lost.
"Has he improved?" The silence made me jumpy, the flight of a bird past the window made me jump.
She stopped looking at me after a while and began to scribble notes down in the little green book before her. The pen's scratching made me twitchy and I took up the beat again, this time with my feet.
The clocked ticked loudly and I watched it count away the minutes I spent here with her, I waited, played life's little game.
"Time to leave then, maybe we'll make more progress next time." The soft smile stuck to her face again. She always said that and it never happened, NEVER. It wouldn't happen next time or the time after or any time at all.
"See you soon then!"
I walked away, fiddling with a small pebble I found on the wall next to me.

Story #2

He felt dissatisfied with his life. Everything was wrong, nothing was 'good' anymore.
He'd told his wife he didn't love her as much as he used to; he'd told his children he didn't feel for them like he had when they were young; he'd told his friends they didn't mean anything to him.
Still, that didn't make it go away, that feeling of an empty space within him.
Maybe he needed a change on his path towards death. Maybe he needed more excitement, more suspense at what would happen next rather than being able to plan each day in his mind.
With that thought he had left everything; his job, his family and his life. He had never felt so wonderful before. He was alone in the world and yet he was the happiest he'd ever been in his life.
Finally he could rest and realise his true dreams, not the ones that had been given to him by society. He could finally be free.

Take a step,
Take a beat,
Look back at yourself,
See what you have and what you'll never be.

Judge but don't be judged,
Live and don't be scared,
Look outside yourself,
See what you can never be.

wow, that first story was very powerful. I felt like I was the one sat in that chair, tapping away, going through the motions. It takes talent to draw someone in like that.

Story #3

I sat behind the elm, shadows surrounding me in a sea of grass. Watching them from the hillside. The girls and boys in the playground; where I should be. I saw them laughing and smiling and I felt their joy and hurt as they played and ran.
One boy occupied my interest. Younger than me and smaller and weaker, yet somehow I felt less than he. I wished to be him, even as others pushed him and teased him and he cried. Maybe it was because it would let me feel a little more human.
Sometimes I wished to run to his side when he cried, others I wanted to join the boys bullying him. I fought both sides of the battle in my mind, losing and winning as it happened below me. Never once did I cry like he, never once did I laugh like them. I felt divided; one of me then an army's worth.
Then one day I didn't see the boy, only the others wondering. I looked and looked, day after day and still I never caught a glimpse. It was as if a stage of my life had ended and with out him I was no longer restrained. I ran down the hillside, the wind in my hair and the sun on my skin. Without that boy below me I was myself again. I was filled with a feeling of relief and yet sadness at no longer 'being' him. I laughed and cried as the others had done. However, I often wondered what became of that boy, 'myself' in a way. He was gone now and I should think no more on it.

You write beautifully, in a very compelling, touching way. Once more, this was a very powerful piece.

Good stories.

Yes that is an awe inspiring compliment, bitch.

This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife
Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight

And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it
