I am currently:
Triggering (SI) - Recently started...

Over the past couple of days, I've been cutting. I only used to hurt myself, but now I've been cutting myself badly. I really don't want to do it, because some of my friends SH and I don't want them to hurt themselves, but I can't tell them to stop if I can't.

It just seems overwhelming all the things that I'm going through (recently come out as bisexual, having boy trouble, lots of exams coming up, paranoia issues)

Does anyone have any ideas to stop me from cutting, because I don't want to hurt myself anymore.

Hiya there im very sorry that your having such a difficult time right now. *Gives you a big hug* Everything will be ok, i know that what your going through isnt easy but it doesnt mean that you cant get through this. Im really sorry for the pain that your going through. Slipping up is part of recovery and we all have slip ups but this doesnt mean that you have failed and that you should give up on recovery.

You can get through this please dont give up please keep fighting through this. Things wont be like this forever, things will get better. Be gentle with yourself try not to be too hard on yourself as that will only create problems. We are all here for you and we will support you for as long as you need it. We all care about you so much. No one wants to see you get hurt anymore than what you already are, that includes me other people here, and your friends and family. Do you have any support at all? I think you need proffesional help either by speaking to your doctor, talking to your counseller (if you have one) or going to A&e.

Have you thought about writing down your thoughts and feelings? Its important that if you do decide to write down your thoughts and feelings that you combine both the positive things and the negative things together so that you dont end up writing down just the negative things on there own. Make sure that you keep safe, none of us want to see you get hurt any more than what you already are you dont deserve it.
Please keep distracting yourself as much as you possibly can, there are lots of things that you can try here are some of them, listening to music, doing jobs to keep you busy, watching a movie, going for a walk and posting on the fun and distractions forum. Please keep talking to us, you dont have to go through this all on your own, we are here for you. Please take care its important that you look after yourself.

I recently came out as a bisexual too...but I have stopped self-harming, I havn't had urges...sorry I know that is no help at all...how about that 15 minute thing? whenever you get the urge distract yourself for 15 minutes, and if u still have the urge then u can do it (?) or you can try doing another 15 minutes? sorry if that was no help...*hugs*

Me too. With FFAF. Amazing

Anyway, I've never tried the 15 minute thing, I'll try that next time i want to cut.

Avalanche - i haven't been cutting for very long, and even though the cuts are worse than before, they aren't particularly deep. They just bleed.
I've never talked to a counciller, but I talk to some of my friends who are SHers and they help me a little.

Hey sorry to hear about the struggle your having, the 15 minute thing sounds good. You say you've never tried counselling, sometimes things get complicated when other SH who are close to you are trying to help each other as they have theyre own problems, so if you think you need to talk about stuff why don't you think about going to see a counsellor? It can give you perpective on your situation when a stranger is listening. Just a thought.
