Possibly Triggering - new poem, need a title *dont think its trig*
The oldest child,
She feels that
Since mummy’s gone,
She has to grow up.
Help daddy around the house,
Help her little brother get ready for preschool-
Keep him occupied…
Try to answer his questions.
Where’s mummy?
Why’d she go away?
How would she be able to explain to a 3 year old?
She wants to be like mummy,
Wants to help…
But daddy knows she should be a kid,
He doesn’t want her to grow up before she has to.
Neighbors come over to help out around the house,
Daddy can get her brother ready by himself,
She plays with him,
But daddy is the one to explain-
Does a better job than she would.
Daddy says he’s proud-
She’s such a big girl…
Strong,
Brave,
His little angel…
But she’s still a child-
He wants her to enjoy that,
He knows how cold the world of adulthood can be…
Let her stay in the warm cocoon of childhood,
Snuggled in her daddy’s lap,
Until she’s truly ready to fly.
She’ll be an adult soon enough...
He wants her to stay a child as long as she can.

I'm gonna TRY and give you a title.... it'll probs end up being a very cheesy title - as the titles of all my poems are cheesy....!! i can't help it!

As a little kid you believed in fairytales,
that fantasy of what your life would be: white dress; prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill.
You closed your eyes and had complete and utter faith.
Eventually you grow up. One day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears.
But the thing is, it's hard to let go of that fairytale entirely because almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith,
that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.
