Labels help - diagnosis
This is going to sound stupid... but what can I say to get a Dr to send me for a proper assessment? My Dr put me on medicine for Depression, which does not help at all... and refuses to change it, she just said to "keep taking it" even though it is not helping. I kind of want to be assessed to check I am correctly diagnosed and "labelled".
The last proper time I spoke to my Dr she did not want to put for forward for assessment and just said "it was hard to assess". The point being that a lot of people have asked if I was bi-polar, as they see my moods and changes, so I broached this with my Dr. She said no. I do not agree. The cycle continues :p
I have almost completly lost faith in Drs and medicine at the moment, so want to make sure the next time I go I get something more positive out of it, as otherwise I fear I will end up treatment resistant.
Does anyone have any suggestions at all? Or should I just give up now?

I feel like you too. My Dr has betrayed me and threatened me. Are you going to get a second opinion by asking your GP?
Good luck.

I want a better opinion than my GP - but the system says that my GP has to refer me... and she wont.
I feel like I am going in pointless circles. Whenever I look into other avenues, it turns out I need to have seen my GP for a referal first.
Sometimes I think going to A&E may be my only option... but I do not want to waste their time when they have people with injuries far worse than mine there - and I have this fear that they too will tell me to go back to my GP. I can not change Drs in the surgery as I have lost faith in the surgery as a whole, why will one Dr be better than the other... they are all in the same place, even the counsellor there was bad, and I wont go back to her. All the other surgeries in my area are oversubscribed... they can not take me on their lists.
