Why.....

I was just trying to maximize the performance of my internet connection for my xbox 360 because I read online that my router was interfering with my nightly game playing. I reset my router and then it stopped working and I called for tech support and they said it would cost 32 dollars but I was stubborn so I spent two days trying to fix it, and when I was out of ideas i gave up and called tech support for 32 dollars. After 2.5 hours of trying, the VAST majority of which was stuff I already tried, he said my router was toast and I had to get a new one now....all because I reset it....So I threw 32 dollars out the window on this guy, although who was nice and patient, didn't do a bloody thing but tell me my router was fried... so now I got to spend 45+ dollars on a new router...Zeus was mean to me today...farking gods...hope he sits on one of his lightening bolts...

I learned to just go to the computer/gaming/over-clocking forums. The people there know more than the people on the phone - and their accents don't confuse me in print like the phone peoples do.

What is the make and model of your router? There is no reason that you would fry a router or any other piece of equipment by power cycling or resetting it.
