i have had this problem before. i asked one of my employers if i could wear long sleeves underneath as i have some scarring on my arm (i chose to specify only one arm so they could be inclined to think it was scarring as the result of an accident or even if they did think about self harm it was not as obvious) that i was uncomfortable about. she said that would be fine. in that case, i ended up wearing long sleeves underneath only for a short time as i worked in a hot cafe, so wearing two layers was no feasible. but the point is, if you are still wearing the uniform provided that should be good enough for your course tutor, and if you do find it too hot, there is also the option of the buying sleeves to cover them. if your course tutor does refuse, ask for a definate reason why and ask for it in writing as well. if ever you think someone is discriminating against you or you feel you are being treated unfairly, ask for it in writing, that is often enough to get someone to realise they are being unfair or to budge if they know it but are still doing it as you can use it against them.
