Triggering (SI) - The Girl Behind Her Window Pane

[forever_broken]

She sits and stares behind her window pane
The tears building in her eyes
Needing a truth or something real
But all she holds is lies

She watches from her prison
Begging for real affection
The only other soul she sees is hers
Her friend is her reflection

The only words she hears are hers
Whispering words unknown
Calling for her Saviour
But she knows there's no-one home

Pain is all she's learnt to know
The only thing she needs to feel
To remind her not just torment runs through her veins
To remind her she's still real

Deeper and deeper she will go
Red runs fast as she starts to weep
The pain will only end for her
Once she falls asleep

She sits alone throughout the night
And watches day start to break
Another day to try and survive
How she wishes she wasn't awake

The morning sun shines through the window
Bathing her in light
She knows that she is still alone
But has to keep up the fight

Her visible scar will heal
But the mental one still shows
And from behind her little window pane
About her daily life she goes
