Triggering (SI) - He actually called me revolting... Skin picking, hair pulling and ED

I keep picking my skin around my fingernails and under my fingernails and the dirt under my fingernails with a safety pin and my husband hates it.
I told my CPN and my psychiatrist about it and they are referring me back to CBT.

However I am picking the skin around my nipples pulling out my hairs on my stomach, nipples and squeezing hair follicles that flare up due to the plucking of hair.
I do have red spots and red little scabs where I’ve done this and my husband actually said it was “revolting” yesterday.

I mentioned how I don’t like cooking now we live together as he is back from uni for good now he seems to think that because I don’t always put food on or want to eat at the same time as him I am doing it on purpose but I AM NOT.

I was going to post this as a vent but I need replies to make me feel sane.

Thanks, I just wanted to talk about it I have my ed group tomorrow so I can mention it there.
I just felt so ugly and nasty when he said it.
I think its beause he finds it sad because im 'defacing' my body and because he loves me.

Wow, I can relate a lot. I pick at and squeeze my skin all the time leaving scabs and red marks. Especially the hair follicles...I thought I was the only one who did that. Well, take care.

I'm sorry he said that too you. it must have been so hard to hear that from someone you love. probably its just something he doesnt understand and his way of dealing with those feeling of confusion and worry over you come out as snappy and unintentionally hurtful remarks
