I think there's a possibility that you're an alcoholic. You either are or you aren't though, you don't just become one or anything. Is AA for you?

You don't have to worry if you are an alcoholic though, because you can choose to recover if you wish. There are AA helplines, meetings, conventions, literature and addiction counselling available if you you want to recover. No-one can force you though, help is something that you truly want yourself.

Sorry, I only have the UK link at the moment, but if you google it, there is definitely a US one. Alcoholics Anonymous UK

Please don't worry though, have faith. It's great that you made this post and asked for help, recognising that you might have a problem is a big step in itself. People are available to help you whatever the outcome,
Take care

I am currently:

Only you can figure out or decide if you're alcoholic. I've heard so many times that it isn't how much you drink, it is why you drink. Per AA's third tradition "The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking." So you can go to open meetings, listen to some of the people talk and pick up some of the literature, the pamphlets are free. So are the little cards where you can answer the questions to decide if you're an alcoholic.

No one has to know what you're doing. If the people at AA talk to you, they're trying to help you! They are there to help other alcoholics as they themselves have been helped.

I am sober in aa, for 13 years. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.
