Hun no, don't worry, legally he can't actually do anything. He may have seen them but has he said anything? If he tries to take any action based on scars he has seen you can fight it, but then, why would you want to work for someone who treats you like that?
*hugs*
Don't jump to conclusions though, no use in worrying over nothing...he might not have even noticed, or say anything at all.
Nope, you cannot be fired for self harm, unless it's something ridiculous - like you became a threat to others, or you were doing something against the rules. It's discrimination to fire you purely on the fact that you do it.
they cant fire you for that unless i guess you pose a threat to yourself or others in the workplace, but i doubt that you do.
at my old job my bosses saw my arms and asked what it was, but i just told them not to worry about it.
It is against the disability discrimination act - me thinks
If it does happen you have a case but the liklihood of it happening is slim to none so dont you worry about it okies :)

nope, cant fire you. my boss at my old job knew that i SIed. I told them in the interveiw when they asked why i was in hospital and had to miss my scheduled interview. He just politely asked me to wear long sleeves if there were new injuries or if i ended up with alot of scars. And also encouraged me to seek professional help but told me it was my choice if i wanted to seek help or not. I was also told the if i found work was stressful and contributing to my SI to let them know and my duties would be altered.
They cant fire you.
The only case of it i've heard of is someone who SIed quite severely and took an overdose and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance while she was supposed to be working (it wasnt her break) and she did it while she was in the staff room.
So yeah. If your boss asks what they were just say that its irrelevant to your ability to do your job efficiently and you'd rather not discuss it.
We enjoy warmth because we have been cold. We appreciate light because we have been in the darkness. By the same token, we can experience joy because we have known sadness.
