Nausea

Okay, this is a bit random but i was wondering if anyone had any tips for dealing with nausea.
I've been almost permenantly nauseated for the past 3 years and the doctor just says it's 'stress', which isn't very helpful. And it's been made worse since i started the meds i'm on.
I was just wodnering if anyone had any good tips for getting rid of nausea because it's driving me crazy!

To be fair.. If its been going on for the past 3 years, shouldnt your doctor make you have some tests done? Hmm. I googled "Getting rid of Nausea" and this came up.

Hope you feel better.

I had nausea constantly for a few months off and on before. Peppermint helps (mints), Emetrol (anti nausea liquid in the US), cola syrup (behind the pharmacy), dramamine might help..drinking coke helps..cuz it has phosphoric acid, same active ingredient in cola syrup and emetrol i think. I have an insane fear of puking and Emetrol/cola syrup never lets me puke. Ginger root helps too.

Hmm, I get nausea a lot too. I usually drink lots of water...just little sips when it's really bad. It seems to help, but not for long...sorry, wish I had a better solution...

I would say that you doctor is not being very helpful.
There are a number of causes of nausea and without knowing the real cause of your problem it is hard to offer you advice.
Some medications can also cause nausea, but do not stop any medications without speaking to your GP first.

You GP can also prescribe you anti-emetics (which are basically anti - sickness pills) Also personally i find that bottle of coke gone flat can help settle a stomach.

But I would definitely go back and speak to our GP about it.

Take care

Thanks for the advice guys.
The doctor is useless, ive ben back a couple of times, so they're done blood tests to make sure there's nothing serious.
But stupid doctor refuses to prescribe anti-emetics, even when i just asked for them.
I've tried all the basic anti-emetics in pharmacies and stuff.
I haven't tried cola syrup, so i'll try that.
Thanks

I have a similar problem and it drives me crazy! Just tonight I went to all the trouble to actually make dinner (dealing with an ED) and then when I was almost done, I all of the sudden became extremely nauseous and had to lay down, which meant no dinner b/c I couldn't stomach it. This happens to me a lot, so I understand what you mean. Sometimes juice, particularly citrus juice helps me, and sometimes anti-acids like tums, but often I just have to wait to see if it will go away on its own. Sorry. If you find something that works, I'd live to know.
