Addiction slipup

Hello all, I'm sort of a recovering coke addict etc.

I've only been using it for half a year and only noticed an addiction pattern since xmas, but i think buying a gram a day is pretty much a problem.

Anyway, I'd gone a week without buying any till tonight... then slipped up... wanted to know if anyone has any advice.

Cheers.

slip ups are part of any addiction. you just haveto pick yourself up again and try again.
dont give up. slip ups dont mean anything.
your body has been addicted to coke for so long it feels it needs it now...so a week without it has already been great. wish i could go without alcohol that long.

have u got any support?
u could get yourself into some counselling and get help beat the addiction. it is hard though

keep strong. i know u ccan get thru this x

The only advice I can give you is to get into Narcotics Anonymous. Not only will you not have to use any more, in time you won't want to.
It is not how much you use, it is why. NA may have a little card where you answer the questions to figure out if you think you're an addict. See if you find them helpful?

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

i agree that slip ups and lapses are part of any recovery. pick your self up and try again. mabe consider some treatment like CBT or alternative therapies, unfortunatly there is no substitute for coke so just have to use your will power to remain abstinant

Just try to go back to not really buying any and if you find that it's becoming hard and that you are just getting into a pattern of it again, get help for your addiction.
Don't give up.
Sorry i don't have better advice >.<

Just gotta agree with blondiebear on going to Narcotics Anonymous. Even if you can manage to track down the phone number and speak to someone about this, they could put you on the right path (go with you to a meeting, or talking to you one-to-one about this and discuss what you want to do).

Take care
