Night Terrors

Not specifically a mental health issue I suppose, although they are exacerbated by stress.

I just wondered if anyone else suffered from night terrors? They are when you 'wake up'... but not quite... feeling terrified and often screaming. You can't always remember them. Not everyone has hallucinations during them but I almost always do, really graphic stuff as well like a trapdoor above me opening and loads of spiders pouring down; I can see them but I can also see the room and my bed.

They are ****ed. Obviously. I'm just a bit gutted because I haven't had a really really bad one for like 2 years [I've had plenty of not-so-bad ones, where you can get straight back to sleep, but none at all for like 4 or 5 months] and I sort of stupidly thought I just didn't get them that badly any more... until a couple of nights ago when I woke up and half the bed turned into giant spiders' legs pulling me down the side.

Anyway. Just wondered if anyone else experienced this; obviously it does affect your life because if you're travelling etc, or in bed with a boyfriend, you suddenly do all this mentalist screaming. It's just not good.

Discuss?

I get them.
But mine are generally recurrent.
Sometimes i get ones that dont make sense, or ones i dont remember.
But mine tend to be flashbacks - in my sleep i do what i didnt do at the time, and that is screaming and fighting back.
I rarely sleep lol

i suffer from night terrors. they are quite bad like yours. i never really remember them though. my boyfriend just tells me about them. he has had to restrain me at times. i have started beating him up in his sleep or when he tries to help me. i often tlk to the people that h cnt see. sometimes i just cry and shiver from pure terror.
they are horrible but u are able to get help from your GP
