Ooh! Stupid doctors! *safe*

What is it with the nhs? Really? It comes to something when i'm trying to point out to the midwife that i'm sure Darrell has thrush which is common in newborns. Which she replies with if it was thrush his whole tongue would be coated, not just the back. So it gets worse over a few days (why are there no gp's open in birmingham over the weekend) so i took him to the doctor's monday and was told i had been right, it was thrush and here's this medicine for Darrell. So i point out if he's got thrush and i'm breastfeeding aren't i supposed to be treated as well so the pair of us aren't reinfecting each other. But yet again, health professionals know best. And i'm told that no, just Darrell needs to be treated. So i have a health visitor visit thursday. And i mention this to her and am told that yet again, i was right. But can't get bloody appointment with doctor til monday as i was too late calling yesterday to get an appointment... This is the funny part. I called at 10.15 am. Was told i had to phone between 8.30 and 9 to get an appointment... Would be lovely to be able to say i can definitely phone within a half hour period. Considering when Darrell wants feeding it usually takes half an hour, followed by a change which can take 5 minutes if he has a tantrum, and then 10 minutes calming him down cos he seems to think nappy changes are the worst thing in the world. Don't these people realise their patients have lives as well? Sorry. Just needed a whine about the less efficient doctors and midwives in this country.

Ah yeah, can relate to that *is putting a massive complaint into local NHS Trust*.

By the way, when feeding, cordless phones are your friend!

True. Unless little one is refusing or unable to latch on... To start off with because of thrush and now if he's had his medicine he doesn't seem to be able to latch on as easily. So it's now back to being a 2 hand job... The joys of breast feeding.
