breakfast burpsi
Have you ever noticed that at aa meetings, there's always coffee and usually sweets? Sugar affects the same part of the brain that alcohol does.
I despise coffee. My taste buds are so sensitive to bitter that there just isn't enough sugar in the world. So I drink diet pepsi, starting as soon as I get up in the morning. I've been drinking 3 or 4 a day and it makes my hands shake. I'll ease off when I get used to the way my current evening med sedates me. When i'm really wiped out, i'll have as many as 6 a day, and my cutoff time goes from 2 in the afternoon until 5 in the afternoon. Oh well.
Since you are 10 days sober, it is fine to drink or eat whatever you want to, so long as it isn't alcohol or any drug that is not prescribed or taken under the supervision of a doc. As I've heard in meetings, if you drink too much coffee you won't end up 200 miles from home, wondering how you got there. There is even a page in the aa book, I think it's page 134 about having sweets available. It really does help.
Hugs!
