Support bandages *Should be Safe, Might Trigger*

The doctor recommended I get some tubigrips for what she tells me is Tendinitis (tendonitis?) in my right wrist - I spend upto 20 hours a day on a computer

So heres the thing, the nice girl at the chemists helped cut a hole and put it on in the first place, and said not to wear over night, but beyond that I have no idea if I'm wearing it right, if its too slack or too tight (I was between sizes so we went with the larger one). last couple of days while wearing it I've had a pain along the inside/top the bit on the same side as my thumb its pretty much along the bone.

any thoughts? should I get it looked at again? or is it just the bandage rubbing because it fits my hand and further up my wrist but not my actual wrist that's really quite skinny

I dont think it would be the tubi grip as you can usually feel if it is too tight. It could just be part of the tendonitis, which will only get better with rest.....if you are concernced and it lasts a couple days it doesnt hurt to get it checked by a dr.

If it is too tight, your fingers will swell above the bandages.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

yep no swelling, and of corse soon as I ask about something it gets better, I've worked out what it is though its using a pen as a pointer using my thumb too much when its under pressure, so I'll just not do that

maybe go back and see the doctor? anything that causes sweeling and inflammation in the arm can cause problems with the carpal tunnel (nerves running to most of your hand) either temporarily or permanatly. I get temporary carpal tunnel problems sometimes when i get an RSI (i'm a checkout operator so i get lots of RSIs) because the swelling pushes on the carpal tunnel leading to pain in the thumb/fingers and also a tingly sensation.

go back and tell your dr that its still hurting, some of it has got worse, is there anytihng else i could be? there are a few pretty standard tests for carpal tunnel syndrome which they will be able to do. one involves pushing the hand back to see what happens to the fingers. there's a few others that i cant remember off hand. dont try to do these tests yourself as you may injure yourself, or make an existing injury worse.
