Triggering (SI/OD) - Stressed and confused *UPDATE* went to a+e
Well guess what...I am being sent to A+E anyway FOR CHRISTS SAKE. I had stitches taken out today on a cut which has been infected for the last two weeks but the nurse said she couldn't take two out because it was too infected and their was infected tissue or something growing over it and she made me PROMISE to go to A+E tonight after my presentation.
I mean....is this really necessary? Surely it will just...I dunno get rid of itself??? I should have just ****ing cut and then at least I would feel I have a reason for going and I would feel better, I just feel so stupid going just to get a couple of stitches out :( :(

I understand how you feel about giving a presentation, I had to do one before Christmas, I'd only spoke in public once before [for my English GCSE, and it was a complete disaster]. What I found helped was really concentrating on what I was talking about - as in I purposefully did not make a 'script' but more a rough outline in my head. I was still nervous[and shaking!] but I was focussing more on making sure I said everything I wanted. I don't if this kind of approach will help you?
No-one will be judging you. I don't who you are presenting to, but I found with my presentation the other students were barely listening.
Please try not to get too worked up about it, good luck x

Most everyone is scared to speak in front of others. I tried to work as a teacher and that fear made me a poor teacher.
A few weeks ago I spoke to an audience that I knew would be attentive and supportive and i'm surprised they couldn't hear my knees knocking behind the podium!
You'll be okay!

My husband is my best friend.
In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Well guess what...I am being sent to A+E anyway FOR CHRISTS SAKE. I had stitches taken out today on a cut which has been infected for the last ten days (I saw someone and got put on antibiotics) but the nurse said she couldn't take two out because it was too infected and there was infected tissue or something growing over it and she made me PROMISE to go to A+E tonight after my presentation.
I mean....is this really necessary? Surely it will just...I dunno get rid of itself??? I should have just ****ing cut and then at least I would feel I have a reason for going and I would feel better, I just feel so stupid going just to get a couple of stitches out :( :(
Do you think it is really necessary?

You really need to get the stitches out, so if the nurse has advised you to go to A&E then you really should go, and really I'm sure you know that this wont just solve itself. Look at it this way, you're going to have to get them out at some stage so just go and get it over and done with. I can understand that you might feel silly but I'm sure it will be fine and it has to be done.
Hope you get this sorted,
Take care Xx

Today I'll try to become more aware of alternatives that I haven't yet realised. Although I have no control over other people's reactions or thoughts, I can change the way I react.

hey, thanks everyone for the replies. I went, felt like an idiot, but got them removed and redressed and given more antibiotics. I have been on amoxiclav and flucloxacillin for the last 10 days and it does look better than originally. Just have to go see the nurse on friday to get it rechecked at health centre and more antibiotics if necessary. whole thing took 5.5 hours though :(
