file conversion help?

okay so I bought some music from iTunes today seeing as I had a gift voucher, i thought i might as well use it. But stuff i've bought is in MP4 files, and my MP3 player won't recognise those files.

So I thought downloading a file converter would do the trick, but alas, I can't find one that will convert them from MP4 to mp3 or wmv, they all do the opposite. So, can anyone suggest a good file conveter? or what else I can do so I can actually put the music onto my mp3 player?

i dont know. i used to have one that converted .m4a into .mp3's. but i just got it by typing music converter into google or something.
i'll see.

i tried google and it seemed to be a bit useless.
i downloaded 2 different things, and neither of them worked.
i'm clearly no good at all this computer stuff.

looking around, it's saying mp4 is for videos, not audio?

that's what i found as well. but it def. says that they are MP4 files. but they aren't video files.
i can get them to play through iTunes, but nothing else.
confused.

downloaded that ^^ but it's not finding the files.
says that my iTunes folder thingy is empty. but its not. cause there's music in there!

and i can still listen to it, just not on my mp3 player.

i think if you have a compresser, i know you have them on macs and you can change the file format.

maybe if you look for compressers rather than converters?

I used to just burn them to Cd, then rip into like, Media player, and it would convert as it ripped and stuffs -) (althohg maybe only to WMA files)

Just go in iTunes, click a song, and choose "Convert Selection to MP3" from the "Advanced" menu.
