Corsets in South West area?

Heya,

I know there's some very stylish people across RYL, and I was wondering if anyone knew any good reasonable/cheap priced shops which sell corsets (over bust, the sort you wear with clothes on the outside like)? Particularlly in the south-west area, since that's where I live [of the UK].

I want one to wear with a long black skirt, to my leavers ball.

I tried looking online but there's a lot to order online but I figure these things need to fit properly ... etc, and it'd be a lot of hassle to order and then send back if they didn't fit etc and it's a lot of money to spend on something you haven't tried on.

Another thing is that I don't wear silk, but considering I want quite cheapish ones they'd be likley to be satin anyway... I assume.

Any help I'll love you forever for.

:)

A friend for my old college makes them, but she makes them to order so this isn't ging to help.

Sorry not helpful.

Buth er are relatively cheap, as she does them by the amount of material she uses, for instance she made me and a friend matching ones years ago, my friend was two sizes bigger they were exactly the same just for the size and mine was cheaper as I'm smaller.

But yes, this doesn't help.

That sounds really good (Y) would love the linkage. Cheers!

Quark, there's a blue bannana in Swindon which is closer and I looked but there wasn't anything I liked, but cheers :]

"is there any way you could get to london?"

My mum said she'd take me to London if there was nothing we could get any closer, so if by the sounds of it there isn't much around here any London places would be great too :)

Cheers guys!

I think there's a place in Bath somewhere, but where i don't know, they have lots of vintage shops anyway so if you can get there then it's probably worth it, also the place in Bristol is good :)
good luck

i'm not sure if you mean a corset top or underwear...
for underwear try marks and sparks and bridal shops, bhs/debenhams might do them.

for outerwear corsets, i get mine from ebay, they always fit just right. if you want a gap at the back, order a size down, if you want the back covered, (no gap where it laces) get your normal size.

They are fairly alterable. either lace tighter or looser. I found to loosen the waist a bit made the bust too loose too. you can lace the corset from the bottom and then pull the loops big (at the waist for example) and the lace from the top down and tie the loops at the waist, it makes a better fit.

Also monsoon sell a lot of corset style 2 piece dresses, a corset and skirt... so maybe try them for the top?
