Triggering (SI) - Someone makes me cut

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they are being "possessed" while they cut? Like someone takes over their body and mind and cuts you, while you just watch, and you cant do anything?

Maybe im just weird. Does the feeling have a proper name? can anyone else relate or have any info on the feeling i am refaring too?

I know what you mean
It's kind of like an out of body experience in a way

When I cut, I'm a completely different person to when I'm being 'normal'.
I'm almost like a zombie when I'm cutting.

I'm pretty sure I know exactly what you are on about hun.
For me it is as if it's a totally different side of me that cuts, a totally different person even.
I always feel as if I have just watched a film of it happening, and its only after when I have to clear up the mess I realise that it was me.

I don't have any amazing advice to give you but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone x

yeah i know what you mean...im always in the same state of mind when i cut. then when im not in that state of mind im like..."how could i have done that?"
it used to get me really upset at first...then i guess i got used to it

I used to get that feeling and still do when thing's suck.
I feel werid saying my experiences with quiting, but i've come to accept it's always going to be a part of my life, but we can always cope with the things that come from the darkest parts of who we are.

Don't be afraid of it, we all, and always will, have our own inner demons to face. Now that you know some other part of your soul wants you to cut, you can take steps in stopping it. And like everyone has posted, you are not alone in this feeling. :)

Just don't worry, you all will find your way to deal with that feeling.

I hate it because I feel so helpless, and knowing I won't stop if I give in..

Keep you chins up, there is always a bright end to every dark time we all have in our lives. :)

I thought it was just me who experiences this.

I go into a kind of trance, like i'm there but i'm watching me cutting myself and there is nothing i can do to stop myself.
Like i can't control my arms.

Then i somehow come back once i have to clear up some of the mess.

It's freaky.
And it scares me.

But it's nice to know none of us are alone <3
