Hi my name is Sarah. I've never done this sort of thing before (joining a forum that is) and don't really know how it works - so if I get it wrong please be gentle with me.
I'm so amazed and pleased to find this website, at the age of 35 I've found myself self harming again (after 10 years of being free). I have been feeling so alone, I really thought that there would be no-one here of my age group.
None of my family know (my Mum died last year and my Dad is currently dying of cancer), and my friends (those who know) and partner don't understand why I do this (I'm not sure that I do really).
I'm currently signed off work with depression, and have been having severe panic attacks.
It would be good to know that there is somewhere to turn when things get too much, or when I just need someone to talk to. I've also been through a lot and would welcome the chance to help anyone in anyway I can.
Im Jade, Im 34 and still fighting the urges. They are a lovely bunch of people in Vets. All very supportive.
If your having a bad day just go to Vets Support and you will be met with people who truely understand how you feel. They will hold your hands through the tough times in your life.

Sarah, welcome to vets. You're in the right place. We're anywhere from 18 to 40+. I thought SI was only kids and that I was a freak until I started reading posts in vets general and vets support. At one point i'd been free of SI for three years. Then a relationship with an uncle went bad and I started again. With the help of the awesome people here, I've managed three months without SI.

Hi Sarah, I'm Adrian and I'm 40 so you are not the only older person on here it is a great place to talk to people who understand what you are going through. Also I'm from East Yorkshire.
