well honey its really good you want to help yourself some people dont, never give up, there is no point in giving up the word giving up should be band, i know it hard and im so sorry honey, everyone feels like crawling in to a hole and to dispear but think of the word if everyone could do that, your hole would get a little full up... hang in there, you are doin so well for someone who has been in therapy for 10 years, that shows you are a fighter not a quiter, you may feel you are not overcoming anything but im sure it will hit home soon, PM me any time chicken XXX

Maybe its time to take a different approach. Have you been with the same therepist, or type of therepist, this whole time?
I saw a counsellor that specialised in Grief and Trauma counselling. If you haven't already, perhaps that would be something to look into.
You can get through it. Noone said it would be easy, but it is not impossible.

Have you tried EMDR (Eye-motion desensitization and reprogramming)? I'm told it does wonders for PTSD. I've just started it and it seems to be helping but I'm not sure.. just an idea..

sometimes the traditional talking therapies just dont cut the mustard when it comes to some traumatic stuff.. EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) is the gold standard approach, and body therapies also get past the stuff that talking therapies dont..
agreed that if you can find a trauma therapist, specialising in complex trauma and ptsd, then you're likely to be onto a winner.. i've come across some scary stuff with folks in therapy for decades (and i mean decades) with little shift in the traumatic stuff and after a few sessions in trauma therapy things shift big time.. if you wana talk about it pm me and i'll do all i can... main thing, DONT GIVE UP.. all survivors can get through stuff given the right support/therapy/stuff

wow thank you so much for all the response...I kind of went really down and just slept alot...and avoided alot of things...
anyways no I didnt have only one therapist...I even went to an adolescent treatment program at the hospital when I was 16 where it was half school and half therapy with other teen well maximum of 7 teens...then my original therapist recomended me to other different alternative therapist but it was always for a limited amount of session...I think one of my problems is lack of stability in my life...I have never stayed in one place more than 2 years...except now..I have been in my appartment for three years now..which is a heck of an accomplishment...
Right now I am seeing a social worker...who'se primary concern is getting me back to work...not getting me permanant help...which is what I need...I want to work things out so I dont have to constantly fall back and that if I do, at least I have some tools to work things out...but apparently if you have no money you dont get real help so...
Some of what you guys are saying sounds awfully interesting...I had read about it a bit...I have this book called the new feminine brain (by dr Mona Lisa schulz)and she talks about all kinds of depression, pts and its alternative for help..she mentionned what you're talking about...of course its for the usa and I live in canada but still this was a really good book...
it talks about the seratonin gland(which is the happy gland) and that omega 3 is highly needed for exactly that gland..some depression are due because of the lack of omega 3 so..I started taking some...and I have to say it does help me alot...but yea...its just the beginning...
wow so sorry for the long response...but thank you so much..I really never expected to have people respond to this...^.^ it made me a little happy...

Wow..yea I think I am lost too...
I'm sorry to ask but what is EMDR?
I have problems with my memory so I am sorry if it was mentionned and I didnt remember....It seems the more depress I am the more I forget things...ironically what I need to forget stays really fresh in my mind....

EMDR=eye movement desensitization and reproccessing
its made to help you replace a traumatic memory with one that YOU have control over. so as it isnt as traumatic as before.

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.
Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.
You didn't come this far just to come this far.
