BBC Documentary

I don't quite know where to put this, so it's going here,

Title: CUT UP KIDS

I don't know if I'm alone in this but I liked the idea of a documentary that gave people an insight of how SI works & how it makes people feel, & helps to narrow down the stigma but just the Title to me seems a little Stigmatising. I don't think I would have been too impressed if I was a little younger & back at my worst times that just the title of the documentary I took part in was almost stigmatising me. A little concerned what the rest of the general public might think about the title.

I do still intend on watching the documentary, I'm just a little glad I didn't take part, I hope this doesn't offend anyone who has taken part.

Any other peoples thoughts or feedback welcome.

And climb high to the highest rung, to shake fists at the sky.

this is the first day of my life
I’m glad I didn’t die before I met you
But now I don’t care I could go anywhere with you
And I’d probably be happy

& in reply to your question, I don't see how it is stigmatising self harmers?

If you cut yourself, and you're a teenager, then you're pretty much what the title says, no?

I think it's stigmatising in that it suggests that everyone who self harms is a kid and cuts. When in reality it's lots of ages and lots of different forms. But like, let's discuss this on another thread so that it's easy for this thread to go.

And omg people qupted me! :D

I don't think it suggests that, I think it's just focusing on the kids maybe? I dunno, I don't really care haha. I haven't cut for nearly two years and I'm in my 20s so its got bugger all to do with me!

"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."

Self-harmers receive FAR too much attention in the media any way, tbh.
If there's one thing I don't want, it's attention.
Leave meh alone, plz. : ]
