greatest and bestest song ever?

What do people think is the best song ever?
I've been thinking...it's hard, but i went for 'hold me down' by motion city soundtrack...perfection.
But...what do YOU think?

You can't decide something like this.
Everybodies "favourite song" means something different to them. Plus, songs get repetetive/overplayed and are thus ruined.

"Just like Heaven" by the cure
or Konstantine by something corporate.

Both are just perfection to me, lyrically and melodically. I could listen to them over and over and not get bored (in fact have done on quite a few occassions)!

Bob Dylan- Like A Rolling Stone
The Smiths- There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
The Undertones- Teenage Kicks
Nick Cave & PJ Harvey- Henry Lee
Aaliyah-One In A Million
The Cure- Treasure
REM-Losing My Religion.

There's more, but it's down to personal choice.

"Bob Dylan- Like A Rolling Stone"

Totally, so totally yes!
Birlliant brilliant song.

But then again, any song by The Postal Service is great, or indeed, alot of songs by Of Montreal.

I don't know, I don't think I even have a specific favourite song, I have many favourite songs for different occasions.
The Knife and heartbeats is also a brilliant song.

I have no idea, I'll shut up now!
Dicky!

Heck.

I'm sat next to Grace so I'm firstly thinking it's Mojo Pin. But then what about the painful honesty of Accidental Babies by Damien Rice or the classic, straightforward genius of Imagine by John Lennon? Did Black Sabbath's eponimous opener revolutionise alternative music enough for it still to be considered such an amazing record? What about music for pure, unadulterated fun: Blah Blah Blah by Middleman or Hello by The Cat Empire? Maybe the scope and vision in Joanna Newsom's Emily deserves the top spot?

Mojo Pin. But if you ask me again in an hour I'll change my mind, and it probably won't even be anything listed above.

Of course, the answer is Massive Attack's Unfinished Sympathy anyway.

I loathe Jeff Buckely's music.

Cat Power- Lived In Bars
Bat For Lashes- What's A Girl To Do?
Anything by KRS-One
TLC-Waterfalls. Lisa Lopes' rap alone is fantastic.
Iggy Pop- The Passenger
Bloc Party- So Here We Are
Amy Winehouse- Back To Black
Elton John-Tiny Dancer (the scene in Almost Famous where they all sing it makes me cry EVERY time)
I also agree with Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack.
Morrissey- I Have Forgiven Jesus
Soul II Soul- Back To Life.

Ozzy Osbourne - Dreamer or Running Out Of Time

There are pretty amazing songs in musicals with exeptional lyrics.

Various things by greenday, was watching them on kerrang the other night but cant remember the titles.

I really think it depends on the occasion and how you are feeling at the time.
