Does anyone know how best to cope when anxiety causes nausea/vomiting?

Hi

Im just wondering about the above question? I’ve suffered anxiety throughout my life so am used to coping with it to some extent but currently there is a situation going on my life which means my anxiety has become very extreme. I am experiencing occasions of nausea and/or vomiting due to anxiety and the frequency seems to be increasing.

Thanks for any assistance that can be given.

i do not always manage to be around but i wish you all the very best - love and luck to you all!

first thought would be to rule out if there is anything medical occurring?

second thought would be if it is that extreme to ask if any type of prn could help bring down the intensity so again probably medical ish.

is there any other type of help or support you can get for the situation? that sounds so horrible. we really hope things ease up in intensity for you soon.

Please do not give me virtual hugs unless you are only using the hug function on threads. Thanks.

You can't always keep it separate.
This is happening, this is part of you.

Agree with auror that it is good to rule out medical things especially as it has got worse recently.

Some natural remedies to help cope with nausea are taking regular small sips of a cold water, eating mint or ginger flavoured sweets or drinking peppermint or ginger tea (again small sips). Won't fix underlying cause but can help soothe symptoms.

Breathing techniques and mindfulness based meditation are what help cope best with anxiety symptoms in general but not specific to nausea.

QUACK!
