Just having a hard time...

I've not posted here much before as I'm just a bit shy and have a hard time expressing myself. But tonight has just been really difficult. I have alcohol problems and tonight has been harder than most. I fool so many people into thinking I'm OK, but I'm really not. I'm dependant and tonight I feel like even that has let me down. Everything seems so empty, I know it will pass, but for now it hasnt'. How do people survive? How does everyone stay so strong when reallt I just feel li,ke taking my bottle of gin to bed with me.

Recently I had to move countries and ended up losing all of my friends, my job, and my whole support network. I'm now having to live with my mother, unemployed for the time being, and miles away from my friends. I feel useless and have become even more dependant on drink. I just need hugs :(

*hugs* I am sorry things are rough for you at the moment but drinking is not the answer and won't make them any better in the long run. Remember things can get better, don't give up.

Take Care

Sorry to hear that you are really struggling with things atm. Emma is right tho, drinking ain't gonna solve things in the long run. You say you lost all your supports when you moved, is it possible at all to look into getting a support network where you are now? You can get through this. Stay strong. I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

Hi Maggy May,
I'm sorry you are in such a bad place.

There is nothing a drink won't make worse. If you really think you have an alcohol problem, could you go to the AA web site and look at one of their little 20 questions pages? If you want, you could check out an AA meeting that is open to members and people who are not members. My anonymity is now in the toilet anyway. I have found that in aa no matter where I go i have friends. I just don't know their names yet. AA is an awesome support group and they are all over the world. "The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking."

I come on strong about this, sorry if it offends.

If you have any questions, please pm me.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Maggie May: Big hugs to you.

I hope you can start finding a support system and getting some help.

I too am in AA and it has changed my life. It seems like you can't really deal with issues until you stop drinking. Or at least it did for me.

I'm so sorry you're so lonely right now. You are in my thoughts.

Thank you, guys. It's really hard to admit you have a problem, and it's even harder now in the light of day to realise that I also have to do something about it. You've all really made me smile, and feel better. Thanks for taking a moment of your time to cheer a stranger up :)
