I am currently:
Bbc to switch off sd channels on satellite

This is confirmed in many places but basically if you're like me and watch TV through a satellite box then you may be interested to know that the BBC are switching off the sd channels on satellite. If you don't have an HD box then you'll lose the BBC channels. You either need to upgrade your box or risk losing the bbc. It's happening between now and February as each BBC region is doing it individually.

Freeview customers are unaffected. I cant find information online about virgin media but I imagine they're unaffected.

Just thought I would tell you. The easiest way to check if you have an HD box is to go to channel 105. If it displays HD then you are ok if not then you'll be affected.

Itv etc are unaffected as it's only the BBC. If like me you have recordings scheduled in sd then you may need to reprogram them as the sd channels disappear.
