Needing to stay mentally well!!

Wasnt too sure where to actually put this.

I am returning back to my job after having 6 weeks off due to lovely mental health. 6 weeks ago, my old cpn has me assessed under the act so I had to call in sick for work. The outcome of the assessment was home treatment team.

I had quite a bad week 3 weeks ago. But i am looking forward to returning to work. Now, my work has never been a problem. Its always been my mental health declining and that meant i couldnt work.

I am currently under going trauma based therapy which is bloody hard! I find nearly after every session i am either drained or just very vulnerable. Or both! However i know have a new care co. Thank god!!!

From what i have noticed. Sometime i will do too much overtime as at the time of booking it i think i can handle it. Then when it comes around too it. I am drained.

My triggers are:
Tiredness
Not taking meds
Not eating right
Money worries

I arent sure what else.

I have very strong ... signs of EUPD. So that is also something i need to be aware off.

Anyone got anything else they can think off

What kind of work pattern do you have? Do you do shifts with days off, or are you typically 9-5 with weekends off? I have suggestions for both but I didn’t want to put stuff that isn’t gonna be helpful if you work differently to what I suggest!

I do 12 hour shifts 3 days a week. Though it can be any way and changes from week to week.

Can you can adjustment to them with occupational health? Maybe have the same day every week so you can fit your appointment and hobbies around it! Or phased return so you don’t return or all your hours in one go?

Right now it sounds like you got to prioritise you and your trauma work and looking after what you enjoy like Sox and work will fall into place. Work have to accommodate you have an illness that is covered under equality act.

When I did therapy and worked full time I used to have it where OH would not allow me to do night shifts. I would choose not do often bank shifts. However our shifts were 7.5 hours so at least 4 days a weeks. Maybe set your self goal where you won’t do more than x amount of bank bank in a week. As it it may stress you out?

Quite often, when we are too fixated on our thoughts, stress causes us to lose control of ourselves and fall into anxiety and even panic, and a good way to interrupt this is to focus on breathing.
