Daily Mantras/Affirmations

I was just wondering if anyone had any personal mantras or affirmations they [try to] use to keep some good self-vibes?

I like those. Good reminders not to overwhelm ourselves with too much pressures.

"I am me, and I am gold"

Kind of inspired by that Japanese pottery where they fix broken things with paint and such to make something beautiful out of something once broke.

I like that Japanese philosophy a lot.

Mine isn't really a mantra or affirmation, but lately I find myself simply saying "Breathe" quite often, and taking a moment to take some really really deep breaths and clear the bottom of my lungs out (the kind that almost hurt your lungs). I tend to breathe very shallowly particularly when stressed so it's a good way to clear my thoughts/released that pressure. It sort of comes from yoga practise when the instructor used to say to take the deepest breath you've taken today at the end of the class.

I feel like a mantra is anything that you use to help center yourself and help keep blah-blah-blahs away. I like the breathing idea of the hurty-lung breaths. Something about it really appeals to me and I may borrow the idea from ya to see if it can help give me those couple of seconds to not freak the eff out. xD

Thank you for sharing. (=

Concentration is an aspect of hypnosis
Rhythm can be as well
Rhythmically epeating slogans, words, memes etc can be a way to self-entrance

It can feel like being more aware but its really a state of being less aware
Being less aware can be tranquilizing.

Often when people are hyper focused on problems, issues etc - being unfocused seems to benefit. But being too focused and unfocused are a way to miss being in center. The opposite of unhappiness isn't happiness - its the absence of unhappiness.

This is how people can get locked into bouncing between extremes. "Positive thinking" actually leads to more negative thinking. False highs lead to real lows. If you psyche yourself up as an exercise you'll be vulnerable to a crash after that. Your identity and life energy are in your center. There is an old expression about possessing your soul through patience and/or stillness. You don't want to be for or against "good or bad" thoughts that fixate the consciousness and pull you in/up/down. Being fixated to a good thought can be just as risky as bad thoughts

As far as I'm aware there's research in support of things like positive affirmations improving wellbeing.
