Klonopin/clonazepam

Has anyone ever been on Klonopin? i justs have to shout my love for it from the rooftops. My gp gave it to me in March, then my psychiatrist took me off of it because it can be addictive. I was on it for anxiety, insomnia, and tremors that were gifts from my little friend, Prozac. Now I have all of the anxiety, insomnia, and tremors again. I'm not really sure how to get her to address these issues. She's tried to put me on Zoloft twice, but that just made me more depressed. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks, and sorry for the ramble!
Beth

I have actually told my psych pretty much everything. My mom thinks she won't put me on it because I am suicidal, but I don't know what my psych's reasons are. I'm just hoping that after the Zoloft fiasco she might reconsider. Hopefully.

I would be careful with those drugs. I was addicted to lorazepam (ativan i think) so they switched it diazepam (valium) and i just got addicted to that instead. It took me years to come off it and i had to go through all the anxiety feelings created by not having the drugs.
Maybe you should talk to your doc and find out if there's a drug that has a similar action that isn't addictive? Or maybe a short course of clonazepam and reduce it slowly so you don't get any rebound anxiety?

I've thought about asking for a similar med. I'll see my psych on Wednesday, so I'll ask her. Thanks!

i have been addicted to benzo's and it is unpleasant. It is highly unlikely your psych wont give them to you because you are suicidal as these drugs often help with sucidal ideation. You should try a small dose like 50mgs of qutiapine, it works in the same way as benzo's but is not addictive

I'm back on my "Special K," as I like to call it and I'm so excited. My psych's quite a scatter-brian (which can be scary) so she didn't even remember not letting me have it. But if I drive with it and get stopped by a policeman, I can get a DWI. That's what a wonderful drug it is! Thank you all for your support and concern.

Even with the prescription I would be in trouble, my psychiatrist says. I don't know why I would, though, since it's the only thing that will make me feel better. My psych says that even when it is taken at night, that in the daytime it's the equivalent of 2 shots of whiskey! That's why it feels so good.

Yeah, I'm going to have to figure that out. I'm 17 and I live with my parents and I mostly stay at home anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard to solve this conundrum. I really want to hire a chauffer, but I can't afford one :P

And the drug eases my crippling anxiety, so it makes me feel good, not just that it makes me feel good. I can't even walk in public parking lots because of my OCD.
