I just wanted to share some positive news! I had my final psych appointment today and have now been discharged from the CMHT! I'm kind of overjoyed. I've been with services with no break for the past five years or so, and on and off before that. For the most part I've been really lucky with the support I've had over the past few years and I've worked hard too. This is the first time I've had a proper planned discharge because I'm doing so well. It's not all that long since I would never have believed that I could do as well as I am at the moment. I'm on the final stretch of my social work degree, working, doing fun things on the odd occasion I have time (!) and I'm in a happy, healthy relationship. I know it won't always be plain sailing, I know I still have mental health 'stuff' that might get more difficult at some point in the future, but right now I'm just really, really happy.
"I know you're sad, so I won't tell you to have a good day. Instead, I advise you to simply have a day.
Stay alive, feed yourself well, wear comfortable clothes, and don't give up on yourself just yet.
It'll get better. Until then, have a day."
