Where to find a support worker

I'm really struggling right now. The mental health team arent giving me any help. So even though I can't really afford it I'm looking to find one who I have to pay for.

Does anyone know where I would start to look for one? *

I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside. ~ Girl Interrupted

Maybe a care organisation?

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

Are there any voluntary mental health associations or organisations in your area? I have a support worker for free from a local mental health association although I think I had to be referred for that. Is there a citizens advice place you can ask for any information they may have?

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

I had a similar problem. I was mentally unwell for some time before I sought help, however after going to three separate GPs (my university counsellor recognised I was psychotic and sent me twice) I was given a referral to the psychiatrist and allowed to leave. Within a few months I was sectioned after suffering a terrible psychotic episode. I went to complain about my counsellor and lecturer stalking me and the following day the psychiatrist was at my house. She originally diagnosed PTSD and a dissociative disorder but that was quickly change. The good news is now I have a CPN and a doctor and I can receive treatment.

When I was really unwell I knew something was seriously wrong and thought about signing myself in. In hindsight I should have, please remember it's always an option. All the best.
