Recycling

I am wondering who here recycles and how many bins we all have.

I have 2 bins - one for glass and one for plastics and tins. I have to wash all plastic packaging. I have a separate plastic bag for paper and cardboard. Some parts of the county have 3 stacking boxes plus a food waste bin. I was never given a food bin not that I waste much food. Garden waste goes in a separate wheelie bin but I don't have an garden.

My parents live in a different county and all their recycling goes in one wheelie bin with the exception of food and garden waste. However their recycling gets collected once a fortnight whereas mine gets collected every week.

I am interested in how different recycling varies throughout the UK and even internationally.

I'm in Bedfordshire and I have one bin for all recycling except food and garden waste, same as your parents. It's collected once a fortnight.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

At home we have 1 black wheelie for rubbish, a box for paper/card another box for cans and glass, a clear plastic bag for plastics and then a green wheelie for garden waste. The recycling is weekly I think and rubbish is fortnightly. I think you might need to pay for garden waste to be collected, not sure.

Here it is the standard, small wheelie each for plastic, tins,glass,card/paper and a bin for general rubbish but I'm in flats so it's everyone's bins

Because I only have access to my garden through my house we don't get bins, we get bags. So i get recycling bags (collected once a week), then red and white bags (which are black bags, every 2 weeks), though i guess i do have a bin for food waste, which is small (collected once a week).
