Crisis team in a&e

If you go into a&e for treatment for two or more different self harm injuries and they ask you to see the crisis team, can you refuse to see them? If you do refuse, can the a&e doctor force you to see them? I have borderline personality disorder/emotionally unstable personality disorder, atypical bulimia and PTSD. I've seen the crisis team before a few years ago and I hate them with a passion so I don't want to see them, I just want to be treated and leave. If they tell me I have to see the crisis team it's likely that once I've had my injuries treated I'll get in my car and leave because I'm not waiting hours to be told by the crisis team that I'm fine and can go when I know that already.

It all depends on risk really, it's very hard for us to say.

Bear in mind if you do leave and they are worried about you risk and you go without saying they may inform the police. I have had this happen to me before.

I know that it can be difficult to wait for Crisis team and to engage in conversation with them especially when you have been let down by them before. But you may find you speak to someone different, someone easier to talk to and who listens better than the last people.

Definitely go and get your injury seen to and sorted out. Whether you stay or not to be seen by psych is up to you, but I would urge you to have a think about it. Maybe take a few things to keep yourself occupied like mp3 player and a book.

'Cause I'll always remember you the same.

You can refuse to see them. I've done this several times. Sometimes they say you have to stay and if you leave you have left AMA and they may call the police/section you.

Imperfection is underrated.

If the Dr's feel that you are a risk to yourself in the immediate future than yes they can section you and do mha.
But if they feel the risk is not significant enough they will honour your wishes.
It's very dependent on how you present and your perceived level of risk.

In most cases they will encourage you to speak to crisis team but it's up to you, unless they feel your risk of further harm to yourself or others is too high.
