Font Colours

There are some people on here who use coloured fonts. Because of some problems I have with my eyes, I am unable to read any text in coloured font. is there anything I can do so that everything I read is in black & white?

Sofie, if you highlight the text you want to read does that make it any better?

Liz, maybe the above would work for you too?

If not, it'd be annoying but you could always keep copying and pasting it into word or something to put it in a fint you can read. There's probably an easier way to get round it but they're the only thinsg I can think of for now, sorry.

Hope you both find a solution.

Its a really good point both of you actually, if there is no way around it maybe theres something we can come up with, its a common problem so its definatly something to think about and bring up with Harley.

I've just done this and it comes up with a blue background and white text, which makes no difference at all. Thanks for the suggestion though.

ETA: Asked a question about font colours on another forum. The response I got was: in IE open Tools>Internet Options - General tab at the bottom is a button called colours... click on this in this dialog on the left you can select your text and background colours (or use windows colours) sadly this doesn't work on all web pages as far as I can tell

liz, you can't read black text on a white backgroud correct?

[this worked for me so fingers crossed]

start > control pannel > accesibilty options > display > settings > high contrast black. > click ok.

NB : make sure you have "Use high contras" box ticked before you click "Settings"

Edit - all coloured text is lost, it is all white on black
and OP, if you were to do exactly the same but use high contrast white, you would only see white text on black =]

Yep colored fonts are distracting.

but, if that's the case, why put coloured text in signatures?

Signatures are for self-expression, ya know? So they can be more artistic.

This is probably the best bet for anyone who has a problem with colors, as it should make everything, not just RYL readable.

Also, if you have a customizable browser, like firefox, you may be able to download an extension to make things black and white.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
