Clowns

I don't have a fear of clowns, but I will probably for the rest of my life have some form of anxiety. The last two mornings there have been two figures standing by my blinds. About the same time at 10AM then they disappear within half an hour. I don't know if I'm being paranoid but it's so creepy. I've been having panic attacks about it. It's not people with leaflets, it's not any other objects, I am convinced it's this clown nonsense. I am pretty much completely better from all mental health stuff but since all this clown rubbish, I've been getting really paranoid. ☹️️ Any other personal experiences?

You may not be being paranoid. There's a (thoughtless) 'craze' going round at the moment where people dress as horrible clowns and stands at windows or even chase people. It's one if those crazes where I seriously wonder how come humans aren't extinct yet.

If I may recommend taking a photo/video when you see them next. It helps to know whether something's a hallucination or not. If they appear in the photos/video it might be worth reporting it to the police on their non-emergency line.

we had a killer clown craze in Glasgow in the early 90s (seriously start typing Glasgow killer clowns into google and it comes up automatically)

there were never any actual clowns though it was just an urban legend but the story went that there was a gang of clowns going around in a blue transit vans handing out poisoned sweets using poisoned face paint and in some cases kidnapping kids and giving them a Chelsea smile. it was all bullshit of course but 8 year old me went along with it at the time just like all the other kids at that time.

The clown thing is really weird. I have no idea where it all came from.

I like the idea about taking a photo of them. It's a good way to check if they are hallucinations are not. I hope whoever it was wont come back.

This whole clown thing is ridiculous, but also terrifying to anyone who's been a victim. These idiots reckon they are doing it as a prank, but if you're alone and being chased by a scary clown wielding a knife or baseball bat it wont feel funny, you'd be scared for your life.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

I've started taking 'extra precautions' for when I go out for a cigarette in the dark.
If a clown comes near me, they will be the ones worse off.
Luckily I live in a smallish rural town and we've had no sightings here yet.

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

Who else is fine?!?!?

We had threats and our schools had to be put on lockdown. Try keeping a room full of kindergartners calm, still and quiet for over an hour.

We've had like, reports of them a few miles up the road and all over the city but none as yet where I actually live to my knowledge. It's like happy slapping all over again.

we've had "unconfirmed" [basically meaning people called the cops and the cops couldn't find anything] sightings of clowns here too as well as two people [kids] within a week of each other posting school shooting threats on social media wearing clown masks
it's really messed up. anything from just scaring people to clowns trying to kidnap kids and breaking into houses and stuff.
