question

Hello,
I just got the diagnosis of BPD and I am quite scared what happens next.
I got these empty feelings, like my body´s not mine, also lots of emotional pain for no real reason. I´ve never had it before. Do you guys have some experience, please? Does it ever go away, is there a way to make it go away? Doctors don´t really tell me anything they just gave me pills.

I am not sure if I am asking at the right place, but I´d appreciate some information.

Thank you

I've had my diagnosis since end of January so know how your feeling, I wasn't really given any information on it either, but as I understand it, it can be treated and managed, but I've never heard of it actually going away, usually they can prescribe medications, as part of a treatment program, and also suggest CBT or DBT to help modify your behaviour, it's nothing to be scared of, you're still you, it's just a label for the emotional difficulties that we suffer with, nothing more, just ignore the label, and try the medication, see if it helps you a little, you have nothing to lose by trying it :)

I have BPD too. It is really hard coping with such intense feelings.
There is some really good information on the Mind website (http://www.mind.org.uk/information-s.../#.V5EnX7h97IU)
Sometimes I find that self soothing stuff helps when i feel too anxious or scared or down or anything else. Like taking a bubble bath or going to buy some tasty snacks and just slouching watching a film.
Ive heard that DBT can really help some people, ive never had it though so sorry i cant advise much on treatment options. but youre not alone in this, keep talking to us
