PIP and medical questionaires

Hey. Just need some advice / to vent a bit.
Been filling out medical questionnaires lately (for my new job (which I've already been signed off sick for), making a PIP claim and for other benefits too.

With the PIP, they said they needed my form back by Monday 27th June. I sent it Wed 22nd June. Today (30th June) I got a letter dated 26th June saying that they can't give me PIP because I didn't send any evidence back in time. Which is bs. I'm seeing my support worker on monday and hopefully she'll be able to help... It was on the form itself that said 27th June and I don't have that because it was sent off so I don't know how I can provide evidence showing that I did send it in time. Should've done recorded delivery but didn't think of it at the time... stupid me.

It's overwhelming and feels demoralising, putting down everything that is wrong with you, but I gotta go to two different cities to attend different assessments and it all feels too much. Just trying to get some financial help whilst off sick...

How do you cope with the demands of travel and interviews and letters with false information when you can barely cope with anything at the moment as it is?

How frustrating!!!

I know it's not helpful to you right now, but in future photocopy your forms. I do this with my filled in medical assessments as well so I have a head start of what to put and don't have to start from scratch each time.

It is an entirely overwhelming process I do agree!

I hope your support worker can help you with this it's not something I have experienced myself but I am sure there will be a way of sorting it.

'Cause I'll always remember you the same.

If you can, phone them and explain. They should nbe ok with it.
I had to have mine back on 25th June but couldn't get a Welfare Rights appt til 27th so I phoned and they said I could have until 7th July.
The people on the phone are generally understanding so don't be afraid of phoning and explaining.

the first time I was assessed for pip they came to my house because I wasn't up to travelling all over the country. the second time they spoke to my cpn and that was enough. are these options?
